Here’s What Weather South Africans Can Expect This Weekend
South Africans can expect a mixed bag of weather this weekend, with cold and wet conditions in parts of the Western Cape, windy coastal weather, and cooler temperatures spreading across several provinces.
A changing weather pattern is expected across South Africa this weekend, bringing everything from rain and strong winds in the south-west to cooler temperatures inland.
Residents in the Western Cape should prepare for cloudy, wet and windy conditions as another cold front moves in from the Atlantic Ocean. Rain is expected across parts of the Cape Town metro, the Cape Winelands and surrounding coastal regions, while stronger winds may develop along exposed coastal areas.
Motorists travelling over mountain passes are advised to remain cautious during periods of reduced visibility and wet road conditions. Localised heavier showers may also develop over elevated terrain.
Further inland, temperatures are expected to cool noticeably across parts of the Northern Cape and Free State as colder air spreads eastward behind the front. Morning temperatures could drop into the single digits in some areas, particularly in rural and elevated regions.
Meanwhile, conditions across KwaZulu-Natal and parts of the eastern coastline are expected to remain milder, although windy coastal conditions may still develop at times.
